Developed by Lee Culp, CDT along with an international team of leading ceramists including Matt Roberts and Jürgen Seger, Ivoclar Vivadent is proud to announce the introduction of IPS Empress Esthetic, a new product line that optimizes the original IPS Empress materials and enhances this simple system for fabricating metal-free restorations.
The original IPS Empress material was designed to provide the opportunity for outstanding esthetics. This opportunity was realized by thousands of dental laboratories, tens of thousands of dentists, and millions of patients since its launch in 1991. Lee Culp, CDT and master ceramist, expanded the opportunity by designing a method of mixing various powders to be used with Empress ingots to create incredibly life-like veneers. Technicians have used this method of veneer fabrication for many years.
With the introduction of IPS Empress Esthetic, featuring the new IPS Empress Esthetic Veneer Material, your IPS Empress Center can create pressed and layered restorations that truly mimic the beauty of natural teeth and conserve valuable tooth structure. In addition, the IPS Empress Esthetic material's color, clarity, strength, and leucite crystal distribution have all been enhanced resulting in improved strength and superior optical properties. IPS Empress Esthetic restorations are available from your IPS Empress Center in 12 ingot shades, including the new Empress Esthetic E03 ingot. The IPS Empress Esthetic Ingot Shade Guide has been developed to assist the clinician in determining the appropriate shade of ingot to prescribe.
