R-dent Hires On-Staff Clinician, Becomes Lava Milling Center, and Digital Impression Hub for Lava COS and iTero

Please welcome the newest member to our staff, Dr. Bob Hewitt. Dr. Hewiit will be our first ON-STAFF CLINICIAN! He will not only be assisting us with quality control of our internal casework, but he will also be available to assist our customers with anything from proper treatment planning on complex implant cases to better impression techniques. R-dent is now the only Authorized Lava Milling center in TN, AR, KY, AL, SC, NC, and northern MS! This means that R-dent is the only dental laboratory in this large region that can claim to fabricate your Lava restorations ENTIRELY IN-HOUSE! Lava is the strongest, the most translucent, the most independently studied, and definately the most recognized of the many zirconia brands. In today's market, there are many "black-market" or "knock-off" brands of zirconia, which are being sold for much lower prices to dental laboratories. These zirconias have not been scientifically tested or independently studied to verify their strengths over long periods of time. R-dent is one of 10 labs in the country to have the new D4D Labworks CAD/CAM system. The D4D offers a more accurate mill, scanning, and ultimately better fitting restorations than other "in-office" CAD/CAM system available for dentists. In first quarter 2009, the "Sky" feature will be available for dentists to send STL files, via their D4D machines for laboratory fabrication.

R-dent is now an authorized design center for both the Cadent iTero and Lava COS digital impression systems. This means we have purchased the software to verify margins and preps on both of these systems before model fabrication begins.

We are using the latest in CAD technologies with the addition of the Envisiontec Perfactory Rapid-Prototype Printer. This high-tech piece of equipment replaces the "hand-dip wax technique" used in most labs for PFM and Full-Cast coping fabrication, with a universal wall-thickness and printed resin coping. The result we have found, is a more predictable and better-fitting substructure on all your R-dent fabricated restorations.
